Manageability-a prime consideration in internetwork design

The design, implementation, and sustaining engineering of the Boeing Company's Puget Sound WAN/MAN (wide-area network/metropolitan-area network) are discussed. Network end systems are limited to a series of standard configurations under strict change board control. Active network management is done using Vitalink's 802 WAN manager and Proteon's SNMP overview products.>
