Monte Carlo event generation for LHC

Torbjörn Sjöstrand · CERN Document Server (European Organization for Nuclear Research) · 1992

The necessity of event generators for LHC physics studies is illustrated, and the Monte Carlo approach is outlined. A survey is presented of existing event generators, followed by a more detailed study of the different components that appear in a complete program. ∗ To appear in the proceedings of the CERN School of Computing, Ystad, Sweden, 23 August — 2 September 1991 CERN-TH.6275/91 October 1991
