Spread spectrum communication system performance optimization based on collector epilayer engineering
Reza Mahmoudi, J.L. Tauritz, Joachim N. Burghartz · 2002
The growing use of spread spectrum techniques for personal communications (PCS) in Japan and the US and their severe system demands is proving to be an enormous stimulus for studying the interplay of system specifications on component design. New and innovative techniques are required to span a bridge between system, circuit and device levels enabling the translation of system criteria into device specifications. This paper is devoted to the study of the impact of collector epilayer-engineering on "adjacent channel power rejection" as defined in the "North American Digital Cellular, IS-95" standard. ACPR verification examples for different epilayer thickness are introduced and considered in some depth.
