Terry A. Scott · Journal of computing sciences in colleges · 2004
The Python programming language has the usual advantages and disadvantages of scripting languages over compiled languages. It also has some very nice features that make it better than most scripting languages. Because of these features it makes it a very nice language for an introductory programming class and particularly for non-CS majors. The workshop will discuss good and bad features of Python. It will also given an overview of Python including: flow of control structures in the language, primitive data types, and data structures.
