Preliminary results on string instrument recognition

This paper analyzes and compares the spectrum o f three string instruments obtained from the Fast Fourier Transform o f the sound waves.It is shown that comparing the spectrums o f different instruments holds a strong potential to be used as a first stage o f an automatic instrument recognizer.
