Peopleu/are or managing IS developers is the most important issue in systems development. Effective management of IS developers is the key to higher productivity and better software quality. It also motivates IS developers and increases job satisfaction and commitment while decreasing turnover rate. Some management practices to achieve these goals include self-directed teams, training and development, performance appraisal, and regular feedback. .This report looks at the issues in managing IS developers including problems and solutions. Managers who understand these issues can manage IS developers more effectively. This report also highlights relevant research literature to promote further research in those areas.
