Obtaining high performance from geocomputing systems
Lloyd Kaufman, K. Brasher · World Oil; (United States) · 1992
This paper reports on the continued advancement of geoscience application software, together with the large size of E and P data sets and increasingly interactive computer usage that are pushing the limits of computing system performance. Further, many oil and gas companies find themselves dealing with complex, networked, multiplatform E and P computing systems that require specialized understanding and fine tuning. Thus, E and P computing managers and systems administrators are turning to specialized geocomputing consultants, who are focused on optimizing E and P computing system performance.
