Korean Car Manufacturers' Export Channels to The UK : An Empirical Studysa

The primary objective of this study is to measure the efficiency and effectiveness of the Korean car manufacturers export channels to the UK market from the customers perspective and to improve the efficient and effective management of Korean car manufacturers international distribution channel. Accordingly, this study concentrates on the Korean car manufacturers export channel and performance. In this research distribution channel effectiveness is defined as the extent to which distribution channels satisfy customers and therefore efficiency can be measured by the cost of delivering that level of customer service. In order to attain the objective of this study, researcher firstly, defined efficiency and effectiveness in terms of distribution channel performance and identified relevant performance measurement criteria from the previous studies and discussions with car industry experts and executives. Secondly, identified important factors affecting distribution channel efficiency and effectiveness, and measured Korean car manufacturers export channel performance from the customers perspective through questionnaire survey. Finally, the researcher provided clear managerial guidance for more efficient and effective export channel management based on the research findings.
