A Feasible Approach To In - In Service Interaction Resolution

R. Zygan-Maus, R. Lueder · 2005

This contribution discusses the interaction between two IN services which are both invoked via service access codes. The typical situation considered is a UPT user or a VCC user making a call to another IN service. Different ways of service interaction treatment are proposed for the UPT to UPT case and for the case that two different IN servicess are invoked. For the UPT to UPT case and for any other case, when a single IN service is invoked twice, it is proposed that the call shall be treated by a single SCF instance, otherwise the call shall be treated by two coupled SCF instances. Rules for a loose coupling between the two SCFs are derived. As an example, a VCC to PRM call is studied in detail with particular emphasis on charging aspects.
