Register signal detection approaches in telephone networks

Usually the correlation approach is used to detect the multifrequency signals in the detection process of multifrequency register signals between the offices in China's telephone networks. A new approach based on fourth-order cumulants is presented in this paper for detecting the multifrequency signals effectively. The new detection approach is made feasible by use of the TMS320 fast-speed single-chip-computer and has better performance in suppressing noise than the correlation approach.
