This book deals with issues related to performance analysis of a special class of real-time computing systems called transaction processing systems. Even though the book primarily discusses OLTP (On-line Transaction Processing) architectures, it provides an excellent text for performance evaluation of operating systems and file systems. In many cases the author discusses the effect of multiple processors on performance of the overall system.
