System for high-speed signal processing: the application of tightly-coupled processor architectures

A system capable of acquiring and processing 16-bit data streams in real time at a rate exceeding 400 khz is described. It is based on tightly coupled bit-slice processors, using a common data input stream. This approach permits construction of extremely fast real-time systems, which have more general applications and are highly efficient and cost-effective. 5 references.
