Databases vs. cloud computing

Cloud computing popularity is growing quickly, driving data storage methods development and adoption. On the one hand efficient, simple, and scalable NoSQL solutions are available, on the other – more functionally advanced, but less efficient, relational-based ones. The paper describes the most popular database solutions from Oracle, Microsoft, IBM, Amazon, Google and open source community in both categories. The scope of application of these solutions was discussed.
