A High Performance Microprocessor Based Digital Controller

In recent years a trend toward the use of microprocessors for controlling high performance analog servosystems has developed. This paper dis cusses such an application, to a military system, the power drives of the NAVY GFCS Director MK68. The MK68 is a shipboard device designed to fac iliate the directing of various weapons hardware, such as gun mounts and rocket launchers, by maintaining radar and optical line-of-slight to targets, and providing bearing and elevation information to the fire control computer.
