Framework towards cloud computing Adoption by SMEs in Uganda
Asian Journal of Computer Science And Information Technology · 2015
Cloud Computing (CC) is a recent development that provides a convincing opportunity for organizations to outsource their Information and Communications Technology (ICT) needs from other companies. For example Hardware and software maintenance services, applications, information storage services among others are outsourced there by enabling organizations to concentrate on the core business activities. Although Cloud Computing uptake is increasingly becoming popular today especially in developing countries like Uganda, there are a number of concerns of different dimensions; Technological, Organizational, and Environmental concerns that affect CC adoption. The paper is based on an explorative approach to establish the readiness of Ugandan SMEs for CC adoption in light of the technology, organization and environmental factors which will be relevant to inform strategic decision-making by Small to Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in this area.
