Overcomplete Independent Component Analysis Algorithms and Applications

In this chapter, we introduce the overcomplete ICA. It includes the classic overcomplete ICA algorithm, the algebraic overcomplete ICA (AICA) algorithm, and the geometric overcomplete ICA (Geo-ICA) algorithm. If the basis vectors are overcomplete, it is more difficult to describe their likelihood. One approach for solving this problem is to use more prior knowledge about the density and time structure of the source, while another is to take advantage of the sparse representation of the data matrix.
