AnaLog, Visual Analysis of Log Data
Morten Bendiksen · 2009
Log data is the data collected by companies in the oil well logging business. The Log ASCII Standard (LAS) is a common standard file format for storing the logged data. Different kinds of data are collected by different types of tools. This paper concentrates on analysis of sound logged in the ultrasound range to detect leaks in between the pipes in the well and its casing. This is done by plotting the logged amplitudes versus depth in a graph. To assist in analysing the data, various methods have been implemented. It is possible to filter the data with various filters. After this you can search for different patterns in the data, which match your query data, like the width and height of peaks and the area beneath the curve where a peak have been found.
