The key problem of Cherenkov Astronomy is to detect a weak signal from a point source embedded in an overwhelming but isotropic sea of noise events generated by Cosmic Rays. The enormous improvement of the gamma-hadron separation achieved by IACT systems is briefly described. A short mention of the results obtained by some leader experiments in this field is given.
