You can update installed applications by using Windows Installer patch files. You choose a patch when the difference between one version of a product and the next is small, because only a few files have changed. The main advantage of Windows Installer patch files is exactly that: They’re small and well suited to delivery over the Internet. These keywords were added by machine and not by the authors. This process is experimental and the keywords may be updated as the learning algorithm improves.
