Application of the Hartung-Girod data hiding algorithm for image watermarking

This paper considers a well-known video watermarking algorithm, developed by Hartung and Girod. We investigate possibility of application of this algorithm to image watermarking, as well as robustness of the embedded information to different image distortions. Also we propose a modification of this algorithm to increase robustness to local processing procedures, which consists in applying nonstandard two-dimensional scans at data embedding. Results of experiments confirming the efficiency of the proposed approach are given.
