Construction of fully symmetrical cubature rules of very high degree for the square

A new method for the construction of fully symmetrical cubature formulae for the square is proposed. Even for high degrees the formulae are surprisingly easy to compute: the hardest computation to perform is the solution of a system of two polynomial equations of relatively low degree in two unknowns.
