Maristella Agosti, Nicola Ferro · 2004
Abstract. This paper presents the architecture and the features of an annotation service for digital libraries. Firstly, it describes the relevant aspects of annotations and the different way of using them. Then it shows how the characteristics of the annotations drive the design choices of the architecture. Finally it discusses the design choices and the architectural alternatives for developing the annotation service. 1
