Jo Robbins (co-author) who works at the Met Office presented the paper at the conference and was awarded the prize. The paper is based on the outcome of a challenge that Emma Bee and Jo Robbins submitted to the Space Apps Challenge hackathon in April 2012 to look at harvesting data from Twitter to help identify where impacts of natural hazards were being realised.
