: The total computerisation of medical records is on its way. However, information systems developed for organisational and business applications are designed to fit in rigid, schematic environments which have very little in common with medical settings; here, the time at which an observation was made and the course of parameters play an essential role, and different kinds of uncertainty including vagueness, imprecision, and ignorance are the rule rather than the exception. With FUZZYBASE we present a data model designed to suit medical requirements.
