On stability radii of generalized eigenvalue problems

In this paper, we extend a known characterization of the stability radius of a standard eigenvalue problem to the generalized eigenvalue problem as well as that of cyclic pencils occuring in periodic systems. We also extend some of these results to norms different than the 2-norm.
