This dissertation is about developing a generic methodology in designing a Biomedical Informatics data/network model for a 911 Call Center. This methodology is generic enough to be utilized for any metropolitan city. If the methodology proposed is successfully implemented, 911 Call Centers should be able to expedite response times for critical care patients when electronically distributing the medical condition and necessary data to relevant participants of the process. This methodology should also improve and further enhance the inter-operability between the emergency medical technicians, paramedics, doctors, nurses, and hospital authorities. As an illustration, the proposed methodology is applied to the 911 Call Center at Newark, New Jersey, USA. Perl scripts were used for extracting relevant fields from the raw data provided by the 911 Call Center. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS®. Techniques for analysis included Kolmogorov-Smirnov Test (K-S Test), Chi-Square Goodness-of-Fit Test, and Normality plots. Wired and wireless network simulations were modeled as TCP/IP through the use of COMNET® software.
