Entropies Old and New (and Both New and Old) and Their Characterizations

A few entropies are enumerated that seem to be useful and have interesting properties. It is described how such properties characterize these entropies and some applications are mentioned. Some historical perspective is also given on how certain entropies were discovered and rediscovered.
