Reduction of Influence Factors

Paul P.L. Regtien · Handbook of Measuring System Design · 2005

Abstract The accuracy of a measurement is affected by system imperfections and influence factors. In particular, the influences from the system's environment may produce unacceptable errors. Knowledge about the type of errors (additive, multiplicative; stochastic, deterministic) is a prerequisite for an effective suppression of these errors. In this section, some basic error reduction methods are discussed: isolation, compensation, feedback, and correction.
