Bit error rate performance of differential qfm in a flat rayleigh fading channel

G. Sisul, Borivoj Modlic · 2004

This paper presents the performance analysis of fractal (wavelet) modulation transmission over flat Rayleigh fading channel. The novelty of this paper lies in the differential decoding, which is accomplished using differentially coherent detection is discussed. Mallat's fast wavelet transform (FWT) provides a computationally efficient, practical discrete time algorithm for computing discrete wavelet transform (DWT) and inverse discrete wavelet transform (IDWT). The discrete time algorithms with filter bank implementations are used in wavelet modulation. Wavelet modulation improves the BER performance. The best results are obtained when the joint estimation at the receiver is accomplished by computing the arithmetic average of noisy observations.
