High voltage divider and resistor calibrations

An NBS calibration service for determining the ratio of highvoltage dc dividers and the resistance of high-voltage resistors is described.Calibrations are performed with a Wheatstone bridge apparatus with a simple guard system.Sources of systematic error are identified and methods for characterizing the NBS standard high- voltage resistors are discussed.Ratio and resistance values can be determined between the voltages of 10 kV and 150 kV with an uncertainty of less than ±0,01%.
