Characteristic Of Breast Cancer In Young Women In H. Abdul Moeloek Hospital Bandar Lampung

The incidence of breast cancer in young women are increasing rapidly. Many factors can determine the prognosis, there are morphology of the cells, limphovascular invasion and metastasis to the lymphnodes. Young women with breast cancer tend to have more aggressive disease than older women, while they have lower survival rates. The aim of this sudy is to examine the characteristics of breast cancer at a young women in H.Abdul Moeloek Hospital Hospital. This is a retrospective descriptive study, using secondary data of medical record. The samples are the slides of breast carcinoma patient selected by consecutive sampling from Anatomical Pathology Departement. The characteristics was conducted to the histology type, grading, invasion and metastasis limfovaskular.There were 31 cases (25.6 %) breast cancers occurs in young female (< 40 years old) and the rest were over 40 years old. The most commonly histopatholology type were invasive ductal carcinoma: 29/31 cases (93.5 %). Twenty four of the thirty one cases were in grade 3 and metastasis has occurred. Breast cancer of young women have more aggressive histopathologic characteristics. [JuKeUnila 2014;4(7):131135]
