On Anticipatory Computing in Balancing

Peter B. Béda · AIP conference proceedings · 2004

The stabilization of mechanical systems at (or in the small neighborhood of) unstable states is a key issue in controlling engineering structures like machines, vehicles etc. Generally, an electro‐mechanical system is constructed using digital devices as a controller. In this paper a simply controlled inverted pendulum is studied. We investigate the effect of two control strategies (proportional and integrative) on the deterministic‐chaotic behavior by using recursive and anticipatory computing.
