KryptoNAS: Open source based NAS encryption
Martin Oczko · Vieweg+Teubner eBooks · 2010
Even though more and more software based solutions exist that protect data of notebooks and workstations, NAS systems with integrated encryption mechanisms are very rare available on the market. At the same time it is possible to realize a cost optimized secure NAS device with good performance using freely available hardware and open source software. This article describes the research results of the KryptoNAS project which goal was to develop a NAS device with transparent Hard disk encryption based on open source software and standard hardware. The outcome of the project is a pre-product secure NAS device which meets the requirements of SOHO and SME users. These keywords were added by machine and not by the authors. This process is experimental and the keywords may be updated as the learning algorithm improves.
