Optimizing Application and Session State Management

Jeffrey Hasan, Kenneth Tu · Apress eBooks · 2003

ASP.NET state management is the ability of a Web application to persist information, both at the application and session levels. There are two main types of state in a Web application: • Application state : This is information that applies to all clients of the Web application. This information is shared by, and managed for, multiple clients. • Session state : This is information that applies to a specific client session. You manage this information for individual clients.
