Fiber nonlinearity compensation using extreme learning machine for DSP-based coherent communication systems

Extreme learning machine (ELM) is proposed for compensation of impairments caused by fiber nonlinearity in coherent optical communication systems. Simulations show comparable compensation results to backpropagation (BP) while the computation complexity is significantly reduced.
