Simple class of nonclassical states generated by seeded down-conversion and imperfect photon detection

We have analyzed a scheme employing seeded nondegenerate down‐conversion and a single‐photon threshold detector with non‐unit quantum efficiency and finite dark‐count probability. The single‐mode state generated conditioned on the click of the detector is found to be easily expressed using the negative binomial distribution.
