Nonlinear Effects in a Fuzzy Image Processing System

Fuzzy filters are a novel class of nonlinear operators which are demonstrating to be capable of addressing image processing applications. In this paper the approach used to define a simple smoothing filter is presented, together with an analysis of the nonlinear effects which are recognizable in this specific family of operators.
