A timeless way of interfacing

R. Divià, Tim Berners‐Lee · AIP conference proceedings · 1990

At CERN the ISO’s communication oriented model proved to be efficient for use in a demanding data acquisition environment, the addition of a standard calling sequence being required for the portability of the code. Together with Remote Procedure Call techniques, this has allowed the free migration of real‐time modules between microcomputers and front‐end embedded processors. At the same time, a user‐friendly environment is available for hardware debugging. (AIP)
