The DAPES project (expert systems)

DAPES (data processing expert systems) was one of nine Alvey clubs aimed at stimulating the use of expert systems in British organisations. Two subject areas were chosen, a system to assist the running of a help desk and a system to assist network controllers with fault diagnosis. The author discusses these systems.
