A separation principle for communication networks

Lihua Song, Raymond W. Yeung · 2003

Shannon's separation principle states that for point-to-point communication systems, under appropriate conditions, optimality can be achieved asymptotically by separating source coding and channel coding. In this work, we extend Shannon's separation principle to point-to-point communication networks.
