A Study of Aspect‐Driven Transformations to Facilitate Model Driven Development

Pulitha Liyanagama · 2006

This paper addresses cross cutting concerns in model transformations and identifies a set of requirements for an aspect-driven transformation framework with specific emphasis on non-functional requirements. Model Driven Development (MDD) currently concentrates on mapping platform independent model elements to technology-specific, platform-specific concepts and vice versa. However, while there is much work on transforming models or meta-models along an axis of specialisation/generalization, little emphasis is given for managing cross cutting concerns within these transformations. This paper presents a case study of such a transformation and identifies requirements for future model transformations systems.
