This paper proposes a new concept to use Artificial Life approach to construct intelligence as adaptive behavior based on the neuron-like computational elements. In the paper we outline a computational model for the simulation of adaptive behavior. Examples are given to demonstrate the computational model for creating simple behaviors. 1 Introduction Artificial Life (ALife) 11, 12 is a study of lifeas -it-could-be, or, in general, a study of mechanisms that are involved in the biological life like evolution and development. Especially the study of evolution has become lately popular as Genetic Algorithms 5 when applied for optimization problems, and Genetic Programming when applied for programming. 10 On the other hand, in psychology constructivism is a well known approach to explain the development of mind.
