Multimode Multiband Terminal Design Challenges

Multiband and multimode requirements set a number of new challenges for the terminal design. These challenges and the solutions are described in this chapter. The text presents the latest solutions in the RF design, filters and switches, power amplifiers, transceiver design, interfaces between RF and baseband and multimode co-existence. The power consumption optimization solutions are discussed including continuous packet connectivity and discontinuous transmission and reception.
