The reactive dialogue model: integration of syntax, semantics, andpragmatics in a functional design

Jan Schaake · University of Twente Research Information · 1993

The Reactive Dialogue Model (RDM) is a dialogue model motivated by an integral approach to syntax, semantics, and pragmatics. In this paper we will sketch the central idea of this integral approach, clarify the philosophy behind the functional design, and present the modules of the dialogue model. At the end we will discuss the findings up to now, based on experiments with a first attempt for application of the model, the Reactive Information System (REIS).
