Voltage and Current Loop Transmission
Joseph McGhee · Handbook of Measuring System Design · 2005
Abstract Voltage and current loop transmission systems are a long‐standing way of communicating sensor and control data. They are well‐established methods and are frequently used. The effect of series mode interference in both types of transmission loop is considered. The principles of the current loop are described. Two‐wire and four‐wire variable current potentiometers, current loop transmitters, and intelligent transmitters using temperature sensors as specific examples are described.
