Performance analysis of networks for multi-media computing
Gurdeep Singh Hura, Ravi Sharma · 2002
The power of multi-media is increased manifold in a distributed and heterogeneous environment. Obviously, such power of integration and distribution comes at a price-a high bandwidth and intelligent flow control. This paper examines the trade-off between requirements and performance. To compare service levels of various network configurations for given application requirements, the authors formulate the requirement in terms of workload parameters such as the traffic patterns for each of the video, audio and computing components.
