The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) has the stated goal of creating universal access to the Web, a Semantic Web, and a Web of Trust.This means that not only is the W3C about the Web, but also about a Web that allows machine interaction and processing, and includes security mechanisms to enable trust in different parties and information on the Web.According to the W3C, its role is to provide vision, design and standardization leadership to achieve its goals.To do this, it applies the key design principles of interoperability, evolution, and decentralization.
