This chapter provides a summary of second part of the book on digital video distribution. This second part explores the challenges in delivering video over an “open” network where the video-over-Internet service provider has no access or control of the underlying network infrastructure. The first chapter of second part is dedicated to movie- (video)-on-demand services over the Internet. The second chapter focuses on Internet television, which enables streaming of nontraditional video content to end-users' PCs. The third chapter is dedicated to broadcast television over Internet. The fourth chapter of the second part covers digital rights management (DRM). The fifth chapter focuses on quality of experience (QoE). The final chapter of this part is dedicated to a new networking paradigm for the efficient distribution of video.
