Dedicated to Manfred Padberg. Two classical theorems of Ghouila-Houri and Berge characterize total unimod-ularity and balancedness in terms of equitable bicolorings and bicolorings, respectively. In this chapter, we prove a bicoloring result that provides a common generalization of these two theorems.
