In this chapter, we demonstrate that heterogeneous parallel computing can be applied not only to solution of scientific problems. In particular, we show how heterogeneous parallel computing can be used to improve the performance of a CORBA-based distributed business application. We also present an experience of using heterogeneous parallel computing in software engineering practice for optimization of the maintenance process.
